These sidearms appear in Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, and Van Buren. The 10mm pistols are WAY bigger than 10mm handguns are in real life, the Deagle is closest both in size and general shape (the grip and barrel are sort of similar to the FO3/NV 10mm pistol). Tbh it's probably the most fictional-looking bullet-firing weapon in the game, it's not based off anything in reality. Take this Fallout-inspired quiz to find out what makes you S.P.E.C.I.A.L.: Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, and Luck! Fallout is Bethesda's hit sci-fi rpg that takes place a couple centuries in the future, in a world plagued by nuclear warfare.

The 10mm pistol doesn't have a fucking cylinder, it's obviously a semiautomatic. Nowhere in Fallout have I heard it called a revolver.- Phae

It has a cylinder, look at the external links - the first one is the cover of the comic book the gun is copied from, where the cylinder is clearly visible (and if you look closely, it's also visible on the in-game image), the other is an in-depth discussion of it. Ausir 10:34, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

Price

Where did the price figures came from?PS In-game price of the item depends on - (1)type of the item (for this case - 10mm pistol),(2) trader interacting with character,(3) characters values of Charisma and Trading Skill+some perks, so it could differ when last 2 parameters differ

The buying price differs based on your Barter skill, but the selling price is always the same. Ausir 10:10, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

Shansei C96

What's the basis for calling the Chinese Pistol the Shansei C96? I haven't heard that before. If it's just a real-life reference it should probably be removed. Krismailbox 13:16, August 20, 2010 (UTC)

New Vegas

The 10mm is in New Vegas. It shows up in a couple gameplay videos (Most notably this one from GameFest in Spain) Shouldn't there be a page for it? --70.72.172.87 19:53, October 11, 2010 (UTC)

Re-organizaton

Should we remove the 'American' and 'Chinese models' headers and merge the 'Zhu-Rong v418 Chinese pistol' with the 'Shanxi Type 17 Chinese pistol'?--Ant2242 (talk) 02:08, 20 January 2015 (UTC)

I personally don't think so. The American/Chinese headers makes narrowing down a particular model easier and make it so we don't have to say 'This gun was of American/Chinese design' or whatever. The two Chinese pistols are also different enough to warrant keeping them separate, even if the Zhu-Rong was build from the Shanxi. --Kastera(talk) 02:26, 20 January 2015 (UTC)
I disagree the standard header we have 'Models' should be enough. There are only three types of 10mm pistol, one mentioned only - N80, the N99, and the Shanxi. The Zhu-Rong is the same model and caliber and the Shanxi. The difference is the barrel which is constructed to liquefy the 10mm round fired, and addition of retardant jacketing, as well as internal heat diffusers.--Ant2242 (talk) 02:37, 20 January 2015 (UTC)
Honestly, the 'Models' subheading is more a guideline than actual rule (thank you, Captain Barbossa), but removing it actually won't change the order of the pistols, so the American and Chinese pistols will remain together. I am now neutral on that matter. As for the Chinese pistols, just look at the page: there is too much information on the Zhu Rong specifically to merge it with the normal Shanxi. It's a similar situation to the R91 assault rifle and its modified version, the infiltrator. The infiltrator is based off the R91, but there are several differences that distinguish it from the original platform; the same goes for the Zhu Rong. --Kastera(talk) 03:05, 20 January 2015 (UTC)
I don't think the R91 and the infiltrator are separate either. It appears to be a specific load out, removing the muzzle break and stock while adding a scope and suppressor.--Ant2242 (talk)

They are still different weapons in-game, and as a game wiki, we need to make sure that we distinguish these different variants and make it as easy as possible for users to find the page they're looking for. That's why I'm in favor of keeping the Chinese pistols separate, even if they are the same platform: they're different enough to warrant different sections. It's like the AK-47 and the AKM; the AKM is a modernized variant of the AK-47 that has the same ammunition, action, rate of fire, muzzle velocity effective range, the list goes on. The only thing that changed was the design so it could be mass produced more easily. They're essentially the same gun, but were produced at different times and in different ways, which is enough to warrant separating them as distinct weapons, just like the Chinese pistols in Fallout. --Kastera(talk) 03:58, 20 January 2015 (UTC)

This may be a good example for the Zhu-Rong, but I don't believe this holds for the Infiltrator.--Ant2242 (talk) 04:40, 20 January 2015 (UTC)
